Wellington & The Winelands
Wellington is a small town located in the heart of South Africa's Winelands.
Less than 1 hours drive from Cape Town, and with excellent transport links, it is ideally situated to explore both Cape Town itself, as well as the rest of the Western Cape, and is a part of South Africa's 'Route 62'.
However, a rapidly increasing number of enlightened visitors recognise Wellington as their destination!
Famed for its unrivalled hospitality, and the incredible warmth of it's people, it boasts award winning wine cellars and farms, the historic and spectacular 'Bainskloof Pass', breathtaking scenery such as the Groenberg and Hawequa Mountains tower above the town, whilst Wellington is surrounded by farms and vineyards.
Numerous examples of 'Cape Dutch' architecture can be found,
as well as a significant number of national monuments including
churches, historic buildings, a fortified block-house, and the
oldest steel bridge in South Africa, the 'Lady Loch Bridge'.
